I see several Vista icon sets on the net.
I might want to buy one of those.
However would it be possible to encorporate them in an EZGUI toolbar or are there limitations I should keep in mind ?

EZGUI uses Bitmaps or ImageLists to display icons.

If you use an Imagelist, you can use the EZ_AddImage command to add icons loaded using EZ_LoadIcon to an imagelist.

You can also convert the icons to bitmaps and then use them. It is easiest to work with Bitmap strips (all the icons images in one bitmap, side by side).

I have been using tbpaint which peculiarly seems to induce a relatively low resolution.
Bitmaps however can as I understand have 8 to 256 colors.
Are there guide lines here ?

Evert, what sets have you found that you like? I've been casually window shopping for icon sets to polish up PowerTouch. Hopefully I'll be able to use them in EZ GUI, too. DG

I have not figured it out yet however I saw today my delicately balanced color schemes which were fresh and vibrant on my screen actually appeared to be weak and muddy on a dell laptop.
I was shocked by this I have to say.

So the first thing I did now is remove the background coloring as well I greyed out the toolbar which should make it more stable on all types of screens.

Now perhaps I should choose some strong icons which could withstand the punishment of bad screens.

I only looked around a very little bit.
At least on www.marvilla.us they seem to know what they are doing, their stock icons ($100) might be useful, however I looked at their custom work first.

While tbpaint is also my first line for ICON editing, I also use Miroangelo quite a bit as well. It handles the higher resolution ICONs very nicely. I downloaded a demo set from the site listed above and they are very usable in Microangelo, retaining their full quality.

That's a very beautiful program, thanks for the tip.

What I notice and like about the icons used in the program itself especially is that they are contrasting by shadows, lines, structure and color.
